We had a great time at the droidcon UK last week. For those who didn’t know, droidcon is UK’s largest Android developers conference.
There were great talks from industry leaders and some great ideas from hackers. Here is the list of interesting apps we came across in the conference:
1. Mopapp: An analytics software that tells you how your app performs across a range of platforms including android, iphone, nokia, blackberry and windows markets. A must-have app for mobile app owners. We signed up the same day!
2. Inneractive: They are an ad platform for mobile app owners – they aggregate ads from various advertising networks on your apps, thereby reducing the dependency on one particular advertising platform like admob or iAds. We loved it. Oh, they have a fantastic blog too!
3. vserv: They are an ad platform as well, but their USP is that they enable ads even on apps developed with J2ME. They have a huge presence in Asian market where the apps developed are predominantly J2ME apps targeted towards Symbian platforms.
4. Startapp: They are an ad-monetization solution and they make the ads non-intrusive for users who download free apps. They package a search app with the free app, and the search users make on this search app fetches revenue for both the app developer and Startapp. The idea is novel, but we will have to wait and see how well it is received.
5. Papaya Mobile: This is our favourite – a turn-key gaming ecosystem for developers. They provide access to their SDK and their gaming market place. It takes a couple of weeks for a game developer to get up and running on this platform. We absolutely loved it!
There were so many other interesting apps and ideas that we came across in the conference and it is impossible to list down each of them. However, have a look at the talks from the conference.
We did manage to sneak in our music video, thanks to Kevin – everyone loved it. It was unfortunate that we had to cut the music video short due to lack of time, but we are glad at least we got 2 minutes.
Overall, we had a great time and we are wishing them good luck for their upcoming conference in Bangalore.

Very cool I’ve bookmarked ya on Digg under “Droidcon UK 2011 | Milna Blog”. Cheers!
